I was to lazy to post this yesterday but my mom had a adventure with the new car. She left at about 8 yesterday mourning to go to the bank, I was dead in bed(winter reeks havoc on my already brittle asthma so I tend to be sick in the morning) Shortly after she left I got up ate and poked my neopets you know normal morning stuff^^ She hadn't came back yet but I figured she was doing other things, boy was I wrong.
She came back at about noon looking frazzled and I got a story. It seems as she was going to the bank the coolant light went off, thinking it might be the oil she parked at the bank to check the oil and water levels and found no oil in the car @_@ Thinking she might be wrong she asked a man at the bank and he looked and said and I quote "There's no oil in this car." The man(very nice man^^)gave her a quart of oil to put into the car and she took it back to Wal-Mart's thinking that they had drained the oil and not put any back in.
They checked the oil and it was on overflow,I'm not sure if its a quirk of our car or lots of cars but it seems when the oils freshly changed it looks like the car has no oil @_@ Wal-Mart's drained and refilled the oil free of charge (cause they want us to shop there more^^ *hums Big Box Mart*) and my mother went to a mechanic to figure out why the light was going off and his tests said nothing was wrong,and thus she came home.
We checked the internet and it seems the coolant light thing is a common problem in this kind of car and it told us how to fix it.We also found out our car has a cult^^(ok maybe not a "cult")It seems that they stopped making it in 2000 and there's large groups of people who LOVE the car and share maintenance tips to keep the car running forever,slightly creepy though of course I love and worship the New Beetle^^
